Ferdynand Ruszczyc
I put this artist on my blogspot so you could have a look at him, his great grandaughter lives in Wick and goes to my Monday painting class. He is Polish and quite famous, his best known painting is called "The earth" and shows oxen been driven by a figure at the top right of the painting. This painting I think is in the Warsaw gallery.

Very interesting stuff Jacquie. He was clearly influenced by Turner and the French Impressionists. Fascinating.
